Digital Government

Yes, Government can be this Cool.

Creativity and Design-Led Innovation in Public Sector

In the past 10 years, the U.S. Public Sector has undergone a renaissance of design-led innovation and user-centric thought; a recent survey by Edelman reveals that 89% of government creatives agree that adhering to best practices in user-centric design allows them to better serve constituents, connect across agencies, and provide optimized tools and services for citizens. However, government agencies must deliver ever-increasing volumes of personalized, targeted, mobile-optimized content, which places unique pressures on creatives and communications professionals who operate in budget- and process-constrained environments. In this session, we dive deeper into how creatives view their role in government, what they view as the most significant barriers to creativity in the public sector, and some best practices in design-focused innovation distilled from real-world use cases. I developed the content for this session, co-authored the accompanying whitepaper, and hosted the live panel in Washington D.C.

Leading Digital Media Public Sector to Victory

As a Principal Solutions Consultant at Adobe Systems Federal, I led technical sales efforts supporting a $2B / year digital media business. I crafted vision, GTM, campaign strategies, product demos, roadmap presentations, deployment documentation and numerous customer success stories. I also led Field Enablement activities as Digital Media’s Public Sector team lead from 2012 - 2016, all while delivering exceptional pre and post-sale support of Adobe Digital Media products and services, including Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Adobe Stock, Adobe Sign and Digital Publishing Solution. I directly supported 16+ Account Executives in growing Public Sector’s annual DME revenue from $35M to $110M in 4 years, and led technical solutions efforts for Adobe’s $40M+ Joint Enterprise License Agreement with the US Army, Air Force and DISA. I also represented Adobe at conferences, trade shows, customer events and technology showcases across North America, including Graph Expo, AIGA, Launch Events, NAGW, IVMG, LandWarNet, DoDIIS, Adobe MAX, NAB, JC4I, FOSE, PePCon, AFITC, Adobe Government Summit, and Photoshop World.

Design, Publishing, Asset and Task Management for Marines Magazine

The U.S. Digital Government Strategy expands the mission of agencies across America to provide citizens with dynamic, targeted interactions across devices and screens. Explore how Adobe's tools for publication design, web authoring, native app development, content management, collaboration, and digital analytics have helped public sector agencies meet and exceed the requirements of this federal initiative. In this Adobe MAX presentation from May 6, 2013, I discuss which publishing venue is the most appropriate, 508 compliant, and forward compatible, and I dive deeply into current case studies to show how government designers, developers, content experts, and knowledge workers leverage Adobe's latest tools and platforms.
